Unemployment Once Again

Once again I find myself unemployed, however this time it was on my terms rather than my employers. I have actually been in this situation for about two months now and times are definitely difficult. However I have been readily attacking the job market and searching. Things are NOT ideal however we look on the bright side of life and my drive to become qualified is the main thing. Ask me a few months down the line and it might be slightly different.

Beer = Faliure

Well after time to prime i have realized that the the quantity of some of my ingredients has caused my beer to taste week in flavor. It has also come out extremely strong which changes the taste a bit, however does mean that after three pints I am flying high as i found out last night!

Anyway this weekend i am setting up a ginger beer brew, the ginger plant is currently on the kitchen worktop, and potentially a wine or cider once my wife decides which. Then the weekend after that I hope to set up another beer with the right ingredients this time!

Riverside Brewery

Today is the settling and adding of finings to my 5 gallon batch of beer hopefully… Then I can put in keg to prime for a week and it should be ready for drinking!

Today also marks the day for the ginger beer to be put in to dehmi johns to begin fermenting so hopefully in a couple of weeks this will be ready for bottling! Mmmm…

Next plan is a cheats cider… With the addition of the remaining blackberrys to make a wonderful fruit cider…

Plus another batch of beer will be set of next week!

The Riverside Brewery is diversifying and increasing production!!!

Ginger plant for new ginger beer brew… using the correct yeast this time standard beer yeast, the co2 will be added through priming of the brew when bottled. Just a few weeks to wait.

Strawberry and Blackberry wine finally bottled! Looking and tasting beautiful just time to age now…

Last Day

Today was our last day of holiday and soon I will be putting up some photos and information over the next few days.

However today was our last day and tomorrow it is back to work. Oh wonderful!

Sand castle

Just been down to beach and made a sand castle… Then had the delight of destroying it! Whoop!

Holiday

We are now on our way to the airport to jump on a plane to Dublin! Bring on the Guinness!!! Can’t wait!
